There is sugar and then there is SCIENCE.

What is unique about UCAN? SuperStarch is non-GMO corn starch that goes through a natural cooking process with heat and water. There are no chemicals or enzymes used. This cooking process changes the structure of the carbohydrate and causes it to break down very slowly, giving you little bits of energy over time and keeping your blood sugar stable.

Simply put, SuperStarch is a low glycemic, complex carbohydrate, but it is significantly more complex than any other carbohydrate. Complex carbohydrates break down slower than simple carbohydrates and are more slowly absorbed by the body.

On the ingredient label, “modified corn starch” is what SuperStarch is labeled as. This is very different from regular corn starch, waxy maize corn starch, or any other product that has “modified corn starch” as an ingredient because of the reasons detailed above.

How does UCAN help you burn more fat? When used strategically as a fuel source before and after workouts, UCAN allows you to burn more fat for fuel rather than burning sugars. Any time you spike your blood sugar, the body says “burn the sugar first, don’t burn fat.”

From a scientific perspective, a spike in blood sugar causes the body to produce a hormone called insulin, which is a storage hormone that tells the body to store fat.

With UCAN, there is virtually no reaction from insulin since there is no spike in blood sugar. When insulin is low, the body will burn fat!

Why is UCAN so easy on the stomach? UCAN’s SuperStarch carbohydrate is a large molecule that passes through the stomach rapidly and is digested in the intestines. It is very gentle on the stomach and does not produce the GI distress that is prevalent with a lot of the sugar-based sports nutrition products.

Simple sugars are small molecules, and small molecules sit in the stomach and exert pressure, which is why you feel the GI distress.

UCAN Tip #1 – Curb Hunger in between meals We overeat often because of the hunger in our brain, not the hunger in our stomach. By utilizing UCAN in the early afternoon, you will approach dinner with stable blood sugar and eat the foods they know will get them results and not eat high carb foods because of blood sugar swings and brain hunger.

UCAN Tip #2 – Enhance fat burning UCAN changes your physiology during your cardio workout. It's steady release into your body keeps your blood sugar stable during exercise which makes your brain feel great but at the same time it allows you to burn fat as energy helping your body get leaner.

UCAN Tip #3 – Stay Fuller Longer Adding UCAN to a protein shake – extends the effect of the shake to keep you fuller longer. UCAN calories are long-lasting calories that keep blood sugar stable. It’s ideal for days with back-to-back meetings to help avoid that “brain hunger” that causes overeating.

UCAN Tip #4 – Managing Blood Sugar UCAN can be implemented as part of a meal replacement shake or consumed pre-workout to maintain energy especially with those who are prone to low blood sugar because of the lack of a training response.

Key times to consume a shake including 1 scoop of UCAN are either mid-morning or mid-afternoon to stabilize blood sugar throughout the day.
